Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are all vying for the signature of Jonathan Tah, a report has claimed.

Tah's contract with Bayer Leverkusen expires at the end of the season and he has made it clear he has no intention of extending his stay at the BayArena.

From January onwards, the centre-back will be free to discuss a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs, and it seems he will not be short of suitors.

SportBILD write that four of the Premier League's 'big six' are interested in Tah, with Liverpool currently leading the race.

The Reds are in the market for a centre-back, not least because of the uncertain future of club captain Virgil van Dijk, whose own deal expires in 2025.

United's pursuit of another centre-back seems less certain given they have only recently acquired Leny Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt, while they retain an interest in Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite.

Tottenham are also not in a rush to sign a new starting centre-back with Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Radu Dragusin under contract. Argentine World Cup winner Romero has, however, been linked with a move away.

Chelsea signed Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer this summer but their scattergun and almost unpredictable approach to signings means they cannot be ruled out either.

SportBILD add that despite their attempts to sign Tah this summer, Bayern Munich have cooled their interest in the 28-year-old. Barcelona, meanwhile, are still keeping tabs on him as their search for cost-effective transfers continue.

Just after the summer transfer window closed, Tah suggested he had multiple offers to leave Leverkusen immediately, with Bayern and Barcelona believed to have made approaches to his camp.
