Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has admitted winger Wilson Odobert looks to have suffered a "fairly significant" injury.

Spurs struck a deal worth up to £30m to sign 19-year-old Odobert from Burnley during the summer but saw his third start for the club cut short as a muscular injury forced him off the field just 18 minutes into Wednesday's dramatic 2-1 win over Coventry City.

Asked for an update on Odobert's condition after the game, Postecoglou admitted: "Hard to say.

"Wilson's looks fairly significant so we'll just wait and see."

Odobert wasn't the only casualty from the game as Spurs also lost fellow winger Timo Werner to injury during the late stages of the second half.

"Timo, again not really sure if it was just fatigue," Postecoglou revealed after the final whistle. "A bit unfortunate both of those, they play in a similar position. We hope it's nothing too significant."

Late goals from Djed Spence and Brennan Johnson saw Spurs avoid an almighty upset at a time in which the pressure has been ramped up on Postecoglou. The boss will hope for some positive injury updates ahead of Saturday's meeting with Brentford.
