Ange Postecoglou has admitted he received some "direct feedback" from a number of frustrated Tottenham Hotspur fans in a heated clash after Thursday's 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth.

Spurs tumbled down to tenth in the Premier League table after Dean Huijsen's 17th-minute goal saw them fall to a disappointing defeat which could have been more convincing had Bournemouth converted more of their 21 shots on goal.

After the final whistle, Postecoglou was met with a chorus of boos from a large number of fans, many of whom directed their frustrations to the Australian's face on the sidelines after the game. The Spurs boss responded to some comments - one fan named him Poste-no-clue - before being ushered away by security.

"I didn't like what was being said because I'm a human being but you've got to cop it," Postecoglou said of the incident. "I've been around long enough to know that when things don't go well you've got to understand the frustration and the disappointment.

"They're rightly disappointed tonight because we've let a game of football get away from us. I'm OK with all that. They gave me some direct feedback, which I guess is taken onboard. All I can say is, I'm really disappointed with tonight and I'm determined to get it right and I will keep fighting until we do."

Quizzed on what was said to him, Postecoglou told the media: "Probably not for here, mate."

Tottenham, who find themselves battling a number of significant injury blows, have now lost six of their first 14 matches, winning the same number and adding a further two draws.

Spurs have won just once in their last six games in all competitions, although that was a spectacular 4-0 triumph over Manchester City.
