Real Betis executive Ramon Alarcon has claimed Antony is keen to continue with the Spanish side beyond this current season.

Antony joined Betis on loan from Manchester United during the winter transfer window on a deal which does not include the option for a permanent transfer. He is due back at Old Trafford, where his contract runs until 2027, at the end of the season.

If Betis want to keep Antony, they will have to negotiate with United once again. According to Alarcon, that is exactly what Antony wants to happen.

"The other day Antony told me that he wanted to stay another year," Alarcon told Canal Sur.

"The player is very comfortable here and was surprised by the facilities we gave him to settle in the city as soon as he arrived."

Antony has enjoyed a hot start in Betis, racking up three goals and two assists in seven games to date. United boss Ruben Amorim has admitted the difference in physicality between La Liga and the Premier League will have helped the 25-year-old settle.

A summer departure from United remains on the cards, although Antony's agent has insisted the door has not yet been firmly closed by those in charge.
