Antony has declared he is "so happy" to be making the loan move from Manchester United to Real Betis.

The £84m signing is on the cusp of a six-month switch to Spain as he seeks to reignite a career which has stalled horribly since he followed Erik ten Hag from Ajax to United in the summer of 2022.

Now in Seville to undergo a medical and finalise his move, Antony told local media: "I'm so happy, I'm ready."

Betis have not paid a loan fee to sign Antony but, as revealed by The Athletic, will cover at least 84% of his wages and have agreed to pay the Brazilian a series of performance-related bonuses. It will save United around £1.5m until the end of the season.

There is no option for Betis to make the move permanent, with Antony due back at Old Trafford this summer for further talks on his future.

Antony departs United having made 96 appearances over the past two-and-a-half years, contributing just 12 goals and a further five assists during that time. He remains under contract with the Red Devils until 2027, with the club also holding the option of a 12-month extension.
