Feyenoord manager Arne Slot has confirmed he will join Liverpool this summer to replace Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool struck a deal with the Dutch boss late last month but have not yet offered any form of formal confirmation, with Slot himself admitting he was not sure when his next move would be officially revealed.
However, despite initially trying to remain cryptic over his move to Liverpool, Slot has now confirmed he is heading to Anfield.
"It sometimes feels strange to be doing everything here for the last time these weeks," he told the media on Friday. "I was also a little later today, because I want to take my time for a good farewell with everyone.
"There has been no official announcement yet, but I can confirm that I will be Liverpool's coach next season. But that is no surprise to you."
As noted by Fabrizio Romano, Slot officially signed his contract with Liverpool on Friday, putting the final touch on his impending switch to Anfield.
One of the main hold-ups for the announcement is the wait for work permits to be awarded to all the staff members Slot hopes to bring with him.
The 45-year-old hopes to bring a handful of his backroom team with him to Merseyside, including assistant Sipke Hulshoff, who recently stepped down from his role with the Dutch national team to ensure he was not preoccupied with the European Championship this summer.
Slot's Feyenoord tenure will reach its end on Sunday with a visit from Excelsior, just a handful of hours before Liverpool say goodbye to Klopp for the final time.
