Arsenal have reached an agreement with Bournemouth for the deadline day loan signing of goalkeeper Neto, multiple reports have revealed.

The Gunners are preparing to offload understudy Aaron Ramsdale to Southampton in a permanent move worth £25m – he has already undergone a medical at St Mary's and will sign his contract later today.

Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia has been extensively linked with Arsenal, but The Athletic are one of many outlets to report that talks to bring the Spaniard to north London have reached an impasse.

That has led Arsenal to swiftly agree a loan deal with Bournemouth for Neto, who will now complete medical tests before moving to the Emirates Stadium.

Neto is Bournemouth's current club captain and has been their number one goalkeeper for much of his time at the club. But with Kepa Arrizabalaga signed from Chelsea on a season-long loan deal on Thursday, the Cherries are willing to facilitate an exit.

The Athletic's report adds that another of Bournemouth's goalkeepers, Mark Travers, is attracting interest from Crystal Palace, who look likely to move Sam Johnstone on before the transfer window closes.

As for Arsenal, they've already strengthened Mikel Arteta's squad with the permanent signing of David Raya, while also adding two stars of this summer's European Championship; Italian defender Riccardo Calafiori, who can play at centre-back and at left-back, and Mikel Merino, who has boosted the club's options in central midfield.
