Arsenal pre-season 2024/25: Fixtures and schedule
- Arsenal heading into 2024/25 campaign following another unsuccessful title race
- The Gunners have played plenty of friendlies this summer
- North London side travelled to North America as part of their preparations
It was another case of so close yet so far for Arsenal during the 2023/24 season following a gruelling and ultimately unsuccessful title race against Manchester City.
The Gunners took it to the final day of the Premier League season but couldn't usurp Pep Guardiola's side, finishing another campaign with no silverware to show for their exceptional performances. Mikel Arteta will be desperate to change that next season.
Arsenal haven't been as busy as expected in the transfer market so far but that could change yet. A solid pre-season effort should set Arteta's side up for another promising campaign in the Premier League and Europe.
Here is what Arsenal have been up to during 2024/25 pre-season.
Where did Arsenal go for 2024/25 pre-season?
Arsenal are one of the many English giants that toured the United States this summer. They played three matches against Premier League sides, including two teams they may well be vying with near the top of the table next year.
The Gunners have now returned to home soil to close out their pre-season, with two matches at the Emirates Stadium against European sides before their Premier League opener against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Arsenal 2024/25 pre-season confirmed schedule
There was no time for Arsenal to fit in their trip to adidas HQ in Germany, so their first pre-season outings of the summer were played out in the US.
The Gunners' tour began with a 1-1 draw against Bournemouth with Fabio Vieira getting on the scoresheet early. Arsenal, with the help of a few senior arrivals, then overcame Manchester United 2-1 in Inglewood as Gabriel Martinelli struck with ten minutes remaining.
Four days after their meeting with United, they faced another regular rival in Liverpool. The two clubs enjoyed some fierce battles during the 2023/24 season at the summit of the Premier League table and locked horns again in Philadelphia at Lincoln Financial Field.
Arteta's side were dealt their first defeat of the summer as Mohamed Salah and Fabio Carvalho struck for the Reds, making Havertz's effort on the brink of half-time little more than a consolation.
However, it was a much sharper performance against Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen in north London. Arsenal beat Xabi Alonso's side 4-1 and they will look to build on an electric performance in their final friendly against Lyon on Sunday 11 August.
