- Another huge season is underway for Mikel Arteta's Arsenal
- Gunners have challenged for Premier League title in back-to-back seasons
- The numbers each player will wear which number in 2024/25
Mikel Arteta's Arsenal have scared Manchester City twice, but can they go all the way in 2024/25?
The current campaign is far from the endgame for Arteta's project in north London, but it does feel like a significant season for the Spaniard with expectations only increasing following back-to-back Premier League title challenges.
The Gunners have welcomed several new faces and waved goodbye to others in the transfer market, with Arteta's squad now set for the current campaign - well, until January, at least.
Here are Arsenal's squad numbers for the 2024/25 campaign.
Arsenal squad numbers 2024/25
Declan Rice was Arsenal's marquee signing of the 2023 summer transfer window but didn't take a normal shirt number upon his arrival from West Ham United. Instead, the England international has a unique relationship with the 41 jersey and hasn't swapped for the 2024/25 season.
Summer signing Riccardo Calafiori has continued with the number 33 he wore at Bologna, while Mikel Merino has taken the 23 jersey. Loan deadline day signing Raheem Sterling will wear the number 30 after it was speculated that he'd succeed Emile Smith Rowe as the club's number ten.

What numbers can Premier League players wear?
Premier League squad number rules aren't exactly strict, with players allowed to wear any number from 1-99. More and more first-teamers don bigger numbers, with some opting to retain the number they wore when they first broke into the senior set-up.
The main rule is that it must be unique within the team. Also following tradition, goalkeepers will generally occupy numbers one and 13. Zero is also not allowed.
Can Premier League players change squad numbers?
There's scope for players to change numbers, but these changes can usually only occur in pre-season. Premier League clubs must submit their squads for the season, with confirmed shirt numbers included, by 14 September.
Numbers cannot change once the squads have been submitted.
