Arsenal vs Man Utd: Preview, predictions and lineups
- Premier League rivals face off in Los Angeles
- Red Devils beat Arsenal in pre-season friendly last summer
- Arsenal completed first Premier League double over United since 2006/07 last season
Familiar faces collide in the imperious modern cauldron of SoFi Stadium in the early hours of Sunday morning as Arsenal take on Manchester United in a pre-season friendly.
These two faced off on the East Coast in the United States last summer and United ran out comfortable 2-0 victors. However, the Red Devils' triumph was not a sign of things to come as Arsenal finished almost 30 points ahead of Erik ten Hag's side in the 2023/24 Premier League table and completed their first double over United since 2006/07.
It was a pretty disastrous campaign for Ten Hag, who has remained in the job off the back of United's FA Cup final triumph over Manchester City. INEOS are backing the Dutchman in their first transfer window at the helm and supporters should get to see United's new stars in action out in the States. Their pre-season began with a 1-0 defeat to Rosenborg but they did beat Rangers 2-0 before flying out.
Sunday's bout is Arsenal's second game of their US tour after they took on Bournemouth on Wednesday night. It's a significant summer for the Gunners, who are aiming to dethrone City at the Premier League summit in 2024/25.

Arteta has named a youthful-looking squad for the Gunners' tour, but the Spaniard will likely stick with the majority of his senior players against United.
New arrival Tommy Setford could start in goal with both senior goalkeepers absent, while Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney are nursing injury setbacks at home.

Ten Hag won't be able to call upon those who enjoyed deep runs with their respective national teams this summer, so the likes of Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho are unlikely to feature.
Marcus Rashford missed the 2-0 win over Rangers with a minor knock but returned to training before United flew across the Atlantic. Victor Lindelof, Tyrell Malacia, Harry Maguire, and Antony are also nursing injuries.
There should be a start for summer signing Leny Yoro after he impressed during his first appearance for the club at Murrayfield. Jadon Sancho and Amad Diallo are among those vying for minutes out wide.

Arsenal vs Man Utd score prediction
Arsenal certainly enjoyed their duels against Man Utd last season, but this bout is bound to be a whole lot different. Arteta, in particular, will be keen to experiment given the Gunners have played just one pre-season fixture.
United are a little more seasoned this summer and that could play to their advantage in LA. They comfortably beat an experimental Arsenal XI in the US last summer and Ten Hag's side could kick off their tour on the West Coast with a bang after the Dutchman oversaw a much-improved performance against Rangers before the Red Devils flew out.
