Atletico Madrid vs Borussia Dortmund: Preview, predictions and lineups
- Atletico host Dortmund in first leg of Champions League quarter-final tie
- Inter stunned by Diego Simeone's side in previous round
- Dortmund overcame Dutch giants PSV to progress into last eight
The two outsiders meet in the Champions League quarter-finals with Atletico Madrid playing host to the first leg against Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday night.
These clubs found themselves on the 'right' side of the draw with their respective paths to Wembley being far less imposing than what the likes of Arsenal, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City have to entail.
A stunning penalty shootout victory over an excellent Inter side saw Atletico progress into the last eight against the odds, while Dortmund smoothly navigated PSV's challenge in the round of 16.
Both teams have been plagued by woeful inconsistency this season, although their flaws should make for an exciting two-legged affair. Dortmund have struggled to gain any momentum - they lost 1-0 at home to Stuttgart at the weekend after winning away at Bayern for the first time in almost a decade - while Atleti have been borderline incompetent on their travels.
Nevertheless, one will be progressing into the Champions League semi-finals.
Here's 90min's preview of the game.

Atletico Madrid vs Borussia Dortmund score prediction
Atletico had a week off and will enjoy the comfort of the Metropolitano on Wednesday - only Athletic Club and Barcelona have come away with wins in the Spanish capital this season, with Real Madrid losing twice.
Dortmund's run in this competition suggests they won't fear Atleti's amphitheatre, and they recently proved their impressive ability to defend with their backs against the wall at the Allianz Arena.
With the hosts likely to take the game to Dortmund on home soil in a bid to open up a comfortable advantage, the visitors could have some joy on the break. However, slowing down a well-rested Atleti on their own patch may prove to be a task too far for Edin Terzic's unpredictable outfit.
