Monday nights have got a little more interesting with the arrival of the all-new Baller League laden with celebrity faces.

The modern-day celebrity is no longer merely an international pop star or your favourite Hollywood actor. Social media has created a new beast: the influencer.

These prominent online figures have played a key role in the set-up of the Baller League, and there's hope the inclusion of superstar names from the footballing world will attract vast audiences.

While there's already a German iteration and Gerard Pique started something similar in Spain with the Kings League, this concept is completely novel to the UK. This certainly isn't Masters football.

Let's run you through everything you need to know about the Baller League.

What is the Baller League?

Mats Hummels and Lukas Podolski teamed up with entrepreneur Felix Starck to create the first Baller League in Germany, and the innovative six-a-side tournament is now heading to the UK.

12 teams, managed by influencers and big-name former players, compete over 11 weeks in a bid to reach the play-offs by finishing in the top four. Two semi-finals and a final will decide the winner.

The squads were determined via a draft which took place on 10 March at the Copper Box Arena in London, where all the matches will be played. 144 players were drafted in total, with former Premier League players, futsal stars, free agents, and released academy players among those selected.

There are six matches every week, with halves 15 minutes long. It's six-a-side but the teams are reduced to three players each for the final three minutes of each half. Goalkeepers also can't use their hands, while long-range goals count as double during these periods.

When does the Baller League start?

The first UK Baller League starts on Monday 24 March 2025 and runs every Monday for 11 weeks.

The final matchday is scheduled for Friday 6 June with the Final Four Day taking place five days later on Wednesday 11 June.

On Matchday 1, the first match between Angry Ginge's Yanited and Jens Lehmann, Robert Pires and Freddie Ljungberg's N5 FC will kick off at 17:35 (GMT). The final game of the evening won't start until 22:25.

How to watch the Baller League

Sky Sports and NOW TV are the homes for the 2025 Baller League, with every match from the first iteration of the six-a-side indoor tournament being shown on Sky Sports Mix.

The Baller League's YouTube channel will also live stream each matchday, with more content available via various Twitch streams.
