Barcelona have reportedly lodged a bid to sign Hull City winger Jadon Philogene on loan for the 2024/25 season.
The La Liga side are keen to refresh their squad after an underwhelming campaign but are forced to do so on a tight budget, with their well-known financial issues forcing Barcelona to get creative with their transfer plans.
In search of more attacking firepower, Barcelona have been linked with 22-year-old Philogene and Sky Sports Germany state an official bid has been submitted.
Barcelona are looking to take Philogene on loan with an obligation to make the move permanent next summer for a fee of around £20m.
Philogene, a product of the Aston Villa academy, has also been linked with both Everton and West Ham United after an impressive campaign which yielded 12 goals and six assists in England's second tier.
Hull owner Acun Ilicali recently stressed that he plans to reject all offers for his top talents unless players like Philogene specifically ask to leave the club.
"[Executive vice-chairman Tan Kesler] is feeling like there will be some offers coming and I will underline something again; if you ask me, I will never sell them," he told the 1904 Club podcast.
"The only reason [he would sell them] is if they will come to me and say that they want to go. I advised [Keane Lewis] Potter not to go, and if he had stayed that year, it would be good for him and us together and one year later, he could go.
"Again, about these boys, if they feel like they're going to play and they're going to be successful, for me, their future is more important [than] my benefits."
Barcelona have been tipped to sell Raphinha in order to raise transfer funds, despite the Brazilian's desire to stay at the club. Ferran Torres is another forward player who would be allowed to leave against his wishes, with Ansu Fati also available after an unsuccessful loan spell at Brighton & Hove Albion.
Ronald Araujo has also been linked with a big-money move away from Barcelona, while Spanish media claim that Paris Saint-Germain are willing to splurge €250m to prise 16-year-old Lamine Yamal away from Catalonia.
