Barcelona will wear the logo of British pop band Coldplay on their shirts for the first El Clasico of the 2024/25 La Liga season.

The jersey is the latest in the list of limited edition kits released as part of Spotify's sponsorship of Barcelona, with Drake, The Rolling Stones and Rosalia among the artists to have had their logo emblazoned on the home shirt to date.

1,899 shirts will be available to purchase online, with an extra limited 22 glow-in-the-dark versions also being made available. 11 of the latter will be signed by the men's team, and 11 by the women's team with all net proceeds from the sales to be given to the UN Refugee Agency.

Next up is legendary band Coldplay, who will celebrate the release of their new album 'Moon Magic' which features the likes of Little Simz, Burna Boy, Elyanna and TINI.

Speaking in a press release about the partnership, Coldplay said: "We’re honoured that Spotify has chosen to feature our Moon Music design on the shirt of FC Barcelona. We’ve had a special relationship with the city and the club for many years.

"We’re also proud to support the UNHCR in their life-saving work to protect refugees and displaced people around the world.  Heartfelt thanks to Spotify and FC Barcelona for making this happen.”

As well as the jersey, a special edition of the Barcelonaa Matchday playlist will also be curated by Coldplay for the game.

Barcelona will wear the shirt for their upcoming Clasico clash with Real Madrid on October 26, with the game itself promising to be a potential early season title decider in La Liga. Barcelona currently sit top of the league with eight wins from nine outings.

La Liga and Champions League holders Real Madrid trail three points behind, having won six and drawn three games thus far, but the pair have one more fixture to play before they lock horns. Barcelona take on Sevilla, while Carlo Ancelotti's Madrid are on the road at Celta Vigo.
