Barcelona squad: Confirmed shirt numbers for 2024/25
- Barcelona endured a difficult final season under Xavi
- Hansi Flick took charge ahead of the 2024/25 season
- Catalan giants hamstrung in transfer market
After a disappointing season, Barcelona have headed into the 2024/25 campaign with renewed hope.
Xavi finally parted ways with the Catalan giants, being replaced by Champions League-winning former Bayern Munich coach Hansi Flick. With a heap of generational talent coming through La Masia too, there were reasons to be positive ahead of the new season - and they've started well.
As is usually the case for Barca, the summer transfer window was busy. Their financial difficulties once again made deals difficult to finalise but they were desperate to strengthen their squad and offload some of their deadwood.
Here are the Barcelona squad numbers for the 2024/25 campaign.
Barcelona squad numbers 2024/25
Barcelona's squad is already stacked with world-class talent, with plenty of the club's academy stars already donning famous shirts. Pedri has taken over Andres Iniesta's fabled number 8 jersey, while Gavi has inherited Xavi's number 6 - which has seemingly been cursed since the ex-Barca manager's departure as a player.
However, there will be movement for other young players like Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi, who had to be registered with a number between 1 and 25 after becoming a part of the first-team squad. Yamal has taken #19, with Cubarsi donning #2.
Summer signing Dani Olmo will wear the number 20 shirt in Catalonia.

What numbers can La Liga players wear?
Long gone are the days when football teams would line up number 1 to 11, with plenty of options available to the modern pro. However, in La Liga, rules are a little stricter than elsewhere.
Each club's 25-player 'A squad' must wear shirts numbered one to 25 and players from the reserve team will be awarded numbers between 26 and 50 should they break into the first team during the season. First-team goalkeepers must wear number 1, 13 or 25.
Can La Liga players change squad numbers?
La Liga players cannot change their numbers once the final squad list is confirmed after the end of the summer transfer window. However, up until that point, they can swap numbers with teammates or change to a vacant number.
