Barcelona vs Athletic Club: Preview, predictions and lineups
- Barcelona host Athletic Club in La Liga on Saturday night
- Hansi Flick's side won opening game 2-1 against Valencia
- Nico Williams set to face side he's been linked with all summer
Barcelona continue their bid to reclaim the La Liga title on Saturday when they host Athletic Club in their first home game of the season.
Two goals from Robert Lewandowski helped Hansi Flick make a winning start to life as the Blaugrana manager, lifting the mood around Catalonia after a dispiriting Joan Gamper trophy defeat to Monaco.
They know plenty about upcoming opponents Athletic and winger Nico Williams in particular. The Euro 2024 winner has been heavily linked with Barca throughout the summer but no transfer has materialised and the Spanish winger is set to face his admirers at this early stage of the campaign before the summer window closes.

Barcelona vs Athletic Club score prediction
This is a fixture Barca may approach with some trepidation. Nico Williams has been heavily backed to move to Catalonia in the future and he'll want to show Joan Laporta and co what they've missed out so far this summer.
His brilliance in attack could be a thorn in Barca's side for much of Saturday night, but Flick still has the evergreen Lewandowski up front to finish off the chances the likes of Pedri will create for him.
It's set to be a tight and fascinating encounter but one that Barca may just about edge.
