Barcelona have warned Euro 2024 star Nico Williams this summer will be his only chance to join the club, reports in Spain claim.

Williams was one of Spain's best players on their way to European Championship glory in Germany and he has been linked with a transfer to some of the continent's biggest clubs.

90min revealed last week that the 22-year-old is Barcelona's priority target for the summer window, though reports from Spain in recent days have suggested he could choose to stay at Athletic Club.

Spanish publication Cadena SER report that this has not gone down well at Barca, who have 'made it clear' to Williams if he does not sign for them this summer, they will not reignite their interest next year.

Barcelona also believe Athletic Club have put 'logical pressure' on Williams, which has caused him to have doubts over leaving the Basque Country.

Though Williams is still deliberating over his future, Barcelona are said to have total confidence of agreeing personal terms with Spain teammate Dani Olmo, though they are still in discussions with RB Leipzig over an acceptable fee. The Bundesliga side are holding out for €60m, but Barca would like to pay that sum in a more favourable payment structure.

90min understands Olmo is a key target for Barcelona - a verbal offer was made at the start of July - but ultimately Williams is their number one priority. Nevertheless, the Catalan giants are hopeful of completing a dream double-signing of the Spanish duo.

Ideally, Barcelona are widely reported to want to announce a summer signing before the first-team return from their pre-season tour of the United States. They will take on Manchester City, Real Madrid and AC Milan before heading back to Spain on August 6.
