Best free agents on EA FC 25

While it's immensely satisfying pulling off the £150m acquisition of a game-breaking wonderkid, it can be equally joyous recruiting a hardened free agent in EA FC Career Mode.

For those short on funds at the start of their Career Mode journey, there's a handy selection of players in the database currently without a club who can be signed for absolutely zilch at the start of your save.

Some are familiar household names reaching the latter stages of their career but there are a host of young talents available to managers, too.

Here are the best free agents you need to sign in EA FC 25 - and act quickly before your rivals snap them up.

Best EA FC 25 free agents by potential rating

There are a handful of high-profile names gracing the free agents list in EA FC 25 but their mammoth wages may prove prohibitive for managers. One of those is Adrien Rabiot, who spent all summer looking for a new club before settling for a move to Marseille in mid-September.

A little further forward, there is Real Madrid's 2023/24 Champions League semi-final hero Joselu and former Barcelona and Lyon striker Memphis Depay. Both now have new clubs in the real world but will still be available as free agents on Career Mode.

There is a distinct Mexican theme across the free agents with the highest potential ratings in EA FC 25. In fact, 13 of the 20 best come from Mexico, with EA no longer having the licence for Liga MX but still having international players in the database.

As a result, there are a host of excellent Mexican talents up for grabs, the pick of the bunch being Erick Sanchez. The 24-year-old defensive midfielder plays for Club America in his homeland and is 78-rated with a potential of 83.

Similarly, Jesus Orozco Chiquete, Carlos Huerta, Marcelo Flores and Israel Reyes are all Mexican free agents who boast 80+ potential ratings in EA FC 25 as free agents.
