Bruno Fernandes is seeking a pay rise and assurances over Manchester United's long-term vision as he contemplates a move away from the club this summer, a report has claimed.

Fernandes' future at Old Trafford was thrown into doubt earlier this summer following reports of a potential squad overhaul, after which the midfielder admitted he could consider his future if he no longer feels valued under new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS.

After sparking major speculation, Fernandes moved to calm fears with a passionate admission of his love for United, although that was soon followed up by reports that his agent had held talks with a number of top sides across Europe, with Fernandes not yet believed to have made a decision on his future at the club.

Now, The Guardian state that Fernandes is seeking a stronger commitment from United if he is to pledge his future to the Red Devils.

Fernandes is said to be demanding a pay rise to a level which would take him closer to the club's top earners. The Portugal international takes home a cool £220,000 per week but believes he deserves to be far closer to top earner Marcus Rashford's £365,000.

Also on Fernandes' mind is the long-term vision of the club. The 29-year-old has long made it clear that he wants to see his ambition matched by those in charge and, ahead of his 30th birthday in September, Fernandes wants to make sure the club are prepared to try provide immediate success.

Much could depend on the future of manager Erik ten Hag, whose continuation at Old Trafford will soon be decided by Ratcliffe.

Should Ten Hag depart, Fernandes wants to know who would replace the Dutchman before deciding whether to seek a summer exit.

United are not believed to be actively trying to sell Fernandes, but there is an awareness that he is one of the most valuable assets at the club and the money raised by his departure would go a long way to helping their squad rebuild.
