Bukayo Saka makes prediction about Arsenal's Premier League title challenge
- Bukayo Saka claims Arsenal can win the Premier League this season
- Gunners haven't been champions since the 2003/04 campaign
- North London side remain unbeaten in all competitions so far in 2024/25
Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka has claimed his side can win the Premier League this season, ending what will have been a 21-year wait for glory by the time May comes.
The unbeaten Invincibles' generation of 2003/04 were the last Arsenal side to be crowned champions of England. But Mikel Arteta's Arsenal side have now come close to taking the coveted title in successive seasons, running Manchester City to the final day last term.
England star Saka believes this will be the year that Arsenal climb to victory, however, suggesting that his desire for success will help his team succeed.
"I don't want to put too much pressure on us, but I do think that this is the year [we can win the Premier League title]," he told CBS Sports after Arsenal's Champions League victory over PSG on Tuesday night. "I think we've been close the last two years.
"We're getting closer but this, hopefully, will be the year."
Saka, who was Arsenal's top Premier League goalscorer, has featured in all of the Gunners' fixtures so far in 2024/2, registering two goals and five assists.
"It's just that spirit in me that I want to win this season," he continued, via Amazon Prime. "I believe in myself a lot. With those two things, it helps.
"We believe in ourselves, we believe we're a top team. We showed that tonight. I did tell the boys we have to make a statement when big teams are coming to the Emirates."
Arsenal remain unbeaten in all competitions at this point of the season. They're next set to face newly promoted Southampton on Saturday in the Premier League ahead of the international break.
