Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho is close to joining Chelsea on a season-long loan with an obligation to buy, according to multiple reports.

The Old Trafford star, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund, is close to a move to Stamford Bridge in a late deadline day deal. The 24-year-old fell out of favour at United last year after a public dispute with manager Erik ten Hag.

He is set to spend the rest of the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Stamford Bridge, with an obligation for Chelsea to make his move permanent next summer for between £20m and £25m.

Sancho would become the latest talent added to Chelsea's growing list of players, with the likes of Pedro Neto, Joao Felix and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall all making the move to west London this summer.

His initial season under new boss Enzo Maresca is expected to lead to a long-term deal at Stamford Bridge, ending his three-year spell on the books in Manchester.

The winger made 24 appearances during the 2023/24 campaign, with just three of those coming in the Premier League for United. He did, however, make a brief cameo in United's Community Shield defeat to Manchester City on 10 August after making up with Ten Hag.

Chelsea are set to face Crystal Palace on Sunday, for which Sancho will not be eligible, and will travel to Bournemouth after the international break where he could make his debut.
