Chelsea-bound forward's valuation doubles in just six months

The value of Estevao Willian, who will join Chelsea from Palmeiras this summer, has doubled over the past six months, new data has revealed.
The precocious forward has electrified for Palmeiras after breaking into the team in December 2023 and recently matched Neymar's record of 30 goal contributions in Brazilian football before the age of 18 – doing so in style with a match-winning brace against Sao Bernardo that included an outside of the penalty area screamer.
The deal to take Estevao to Stamford Bridge, agreed in June 2024 but set to be completed this summer once the teenager has turned 18, is thought to be worth €57m in total – €34m in guaranteed transfer fees plus €23m in performance-based add-ons.
CIES Football Observatory, who regularly post updates on the value of players based on detailed statisticial models, have revealed that Estevao's value over the past six months has rocketed from €30m to €60m, making Chelsea's deal look a whole lot sweeter.
Only Samu Aghehowa (formerly known as Samu Omorodion) has enjoyed a greater bump from players operating outside of the top five leagues in Europe, seeing his value rocket by €39m to a total of €68.6m.
Benfica, who have nurtured and developed some of world's football biggest stars, stand to make huge gains on Alvaro Carreras and Tomas Araujo when the time comes for the duo to leave Portugal – they have added on over €50m to their values combined.

Another prominent player in gossip columns, Sporting CP's Geovany Quenda, linked with a Ruben Amorim reunion at Manchester United, also features in the top ten after taking his value from €2.3m to €21m.
But it's Estevao's outstanding showings that will have Chelsea fans excited, particularly as Enzo Maresca's side have lost their way in 2025. The Blues had seemingly settled into life under the Italian beautifully, sitting second in the Premier League table at one point while being mooted as outside title contenders.
But some very indifferent results in 2025, coupled with an injury to lead striker Nicolas Jackson, has seen Chelsea drop to fifth, though they remain in close proximity to current top-four incumbents Nottingham Forest and Manchester City. They also lost to Brighton & Hove Albion in the FA Cup.
Estevao's quality will be a very welcome in addition for 2025/26, with the sky looking like the limit for a player who has already earned four senior international caps for Brazil.
