Chelsea are believed to have triggered the clause to end centre-back Aaron Anselmino's loan with Boca Juniors early.

The Blues struck a deal to sign 19-year-old Anselmino during the summer for a fee of £15m, with the highly rated defender returning to Boca on a loan which was due to last until the summer of 2025.

However, German Garcia Grova states Chelsea have triggered a clause which allows them to break Anselmino's loan in January and bring the teenager over to Europe immediately.

It is reported that Chelsea want Anselmino to gain experience in European football as soon as possible, although the specific plan for the Argentina youth international remains to be seen.

He could remain with Enzo Maresca's senior squad, or a loan to sister side Strasbourg in France could be pursued if one of the existing loan deals is terminated. Goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic and midfielder Andrey Santos have impressed with the French side but questions have been asked about injured left-back Caleb Wiley.

January will also see another exciting young signing, record-breaking winger Estevao, brought over to London for a brief taste of life in England. The Palmeiras sensation will then return to Brazil as he cannot make the move until he turns 18 in April.

Ecuadorian midfielder Kendry Paez, also 17, will join up with the Chelsea squad at the end of the season after his own 18th birthday.
