Chelsea are reported to be considering sending summer signing Marc Guiu out on loan next season.

The Blues triggered the €6m (£5.1m) release clause in Guiu's contract to lure him away from Barcelona, who tried to tie the 18-year-old down to a new contract but were powerless to stop him from leaving.

Reports had stated Guiu had been signed to bolster the first team next season, with new Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca expected to watch over him during pre-season, but Mundo Deportivo now claim a loan is on the cards.

Because of the competition for minutes in Chelsea's squad, the Blues are said to be looking to send Guiu back to La Liga with Sevilla, where he would reunite with former Barca Atletic manager Garcia Pimienta.

Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku are both contenders to start in attack under Maresca, while there is also a willingness to sign another forward option, and so Chelsea are believed to be keen for Guiu to find regular minutes elsewhere.

The Athletic recently revealed that Guiu was not looking to leave Barcelona this summer, but opted to join Chelsea because of the sporting project on offer at Stamford Bridge.

Owners BlueCo 22 are looking to build a squad full of elite young players and felt Guiu's low release clause made him an incredibly cost-effective target in today's market.

The summer has already seen Omari Kellyman move to Chelsea and Brazilian winger Estevao Willian agree to head to Stamford Bridge next summer, while talks over Atlanta United left-back Caleb Wiley are also nearing a positive conclusion.

Boca Juniors centre-back Aaron Anselmino is also set to move to Chelsea in a deal which will see him remain with his current employers for the next 12 months.
