Chelsea are reported to have expressed an interest in signing Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel.
Chelsea have spent vast sums on goalkeepers over the past few years but doubts remain about their strength in the position, with current starter Robert Sanchez under fire for a series of mistakes in high-profile games this season.
Summer signing Filip Jorgensen has started Chelsea's cup games but is yet to force his way into the thinking of manager Enzo Maresca ahead of Sanchez.
Sky Sports Germany state Chelsea are hunting for a new goalkeeper and have voiced an interest in 27-year-old Kobel, with club officials reportedly unimpressed by both Sanchez and Jorgensen.
However, it is worth noting that Maresca has continued to publicly back Sanchez despite his patchy form, even insisting ahead of Sunday's meeting with Brentford that he has no plans to change his goalkeeper.
"The idea is not to change," Maresca said. "But also in that case, we have two keepers who are both good. Until they maintain the same level, we are happy with that."
The report also discusses Chelsea's ongoing interest in winger Karim Adeyemi, whose new agent, Ali Barat, has close ties with the Blues.
Adeyemi was targeted during the summer but Chelsea instead opted to bolster out wide through the signings of Pedro Neto and Jadon Sancho.
