Chelsea predicted lineup vs Arsenal today - Premier League
- Chelsea travel to Premier League leaders Arsenal on Tuesday night
- Cole Palmer struck by illness after Blues were beaten in FA Cup semi-final on Saturday
- Malo Gusto a fresh injury doubt after hobbling off at Wembley
Defeat in their FA Cup semi-final brought Chelsea's 2023/24 campaign to an unofficial close.
An indifferent Premier League campaign means the Blues merely have an outside shot of securing European football for next season, with the club's woes ensuring Mauricio Pochettino's future beyond the end of the season is far from guaranteed.
However, they do have the chance to mess up one of their rivals' title charges. Former Spurs boss Pochettino will be particularly keen to oversee a result on Tuesday night against an Arsenal side that returned to winning ways at the weekend.
Here's the Chelsea team that could line up at the Emirates in midweek.
Chelsea predicted lineup vs Arsenal (4-2-3-1)
GK: Djordje Petrovic - With Robert Sanchez out of action again, Petrovic is the undisputed starter between the Chelsea sticks.
RB: Axel Disasi - Malo Gusto will be assessed ahead of Tuesday's game after he limped off at Wembley. If the Frenchman isn't fit, Disasi will likely step in at right-back as he has on previous occasions this season.
CB: Trevoh Chalobah - Pochettino has found some stability at the heart of Chelsea's backline with Chalobah partnering Silva.
CB: Thiago Silva - The veteran was distraught after his side's semi-final defeat at Wembley, with the Brazilian knowing it ended any hope of ending his spell with the west London club with a final piece of silverware.
LB: Marc Cucurella - Levi Colwill continues to struggle with a toe injury, while Ben Chilwell is back on the treatment table. Cucurella will likely get the nod on Tuesday by default.
CM: Moises Caicedo - Caicedo may well have been parading his talents at the Emirates more frequently had Brighton accepted Arsenal's bid in January 2023. The Ecuadorian starred for the Seagulls in north London at the backend of last season.
CM: Enzo Fernandez - The Argentine recovered from a minor adductor injury to start on Saturday and Fernandez should remain in the team. He and Caicedo will take on another £100m midfielder in Declan Rice.
RM: Noni Madueke - English sensation Cole Palmer missed training on Monday through illness and is unlikely to be available for Tuesday's game, which could see Madueke start on the right instead.
AM: Conor Gallagher - Expect Pochettino to utilise Gallagher in an advanced role to pester the Gunners' build-up. The homegrown skipper will want to hinder Arsenal's title tilt.
LM: Raheem Sterling - Sterling was only fit enough for a mere cameo against his former club last time out and he'll duel Mykhaylo Mudryk for a spot down the left on Tuesday. Pochettino surely has to opt for the Englishman's experience in a London derby away from home.
ST: Nicolas Jackson - The Chelsea striker was guilty of wasting a hatful of promising openings at Wembley. For all his promise, Jackson is yet to suggest he's the long-term answer for the Blues up top.
