Chelsea are aiming to bring an advantage home from their visit to Legia Warsaw in the first leg of their Conference League quarter-final clash on Thursday.

The Blues will want a cushion ahead of the return fixture next week at Stamford Bridge and they will fancy their chances of securing one during the trip to Poland. Despite some questionable displays over recent weeks, Chelsea's superior squad shouldn't be overstretched by Legia.

Enzo Maresca made a number of alterations during Chelsea's goalless draw with Brentford on Sunday afternoon but will name a more cohesive and familiar starting lineup on the continent.

Here is how Chelsea could function in Warsaw.

GK: Robert Sanchez - Sanchez has made important saves during back-to-back clean sheets against London rivals, but the Spaniard is never too far from his next gaffe.

RB: Malo Gusto - The injury-prone Reece James, who played over 75 minutes on Sunday, will be managed between now and the season's conclusion, with Gusto perhaps starting ahead here.

CB: Trevoh Chalobah - Chalobah has been a largely steady force in the centre of defence since returning from his Crystal Palace loan and will be keen to secure another shutout for the Blues.

CB: Levi Colwill - Colwill was one of many names dropped to the bench against Brentford in order to keep him fresh for the journey to Warsaw. He was an unused substitute against the Bees.

LB: Marc Cucurella - The Spaniard is another who will return to the starting XI and will be expected to provide the attacking support that has made him so threatening in recent weeks.

CM: Moises Caicedo - Chelsea's standout performer at the Gtech Community Stadium will offer a tough-tackling approach in the engine room as the Blues aim to make their superiority count.

CM: Enzo Fernandez - Fernandez has been in impressive form over recent weeks and has managed six goal contributions in his last ten outings for club and country. He could be the difference midweek with his box-crashing ability.

RW: Noni Madueke - Madueke's return from injury was welcomed after the international break but it might take some time for the Englishman to get firing on all cylinders.

AM: Cole Palmer - Palmer's goal drought now stands at 12 matches after his half-hour cameo at Brentford but the attacking midfielder showed glimpses of his genius in the recent win over Tottenham.

LW: Pedro Neto - Some of Neto's best performances have come in the Conference League and Chelsea will hope the insatiable winger can conjure up some much-needed attacking spark at Legia.

ST: Nicolas Jackson - Christopher Nkunku did little to enhance his reputation at the weekend following another limp display. Chelsea desperately need Jackson to return to his early season form soon as he reclaims his starting spot from the Frenchman.
