Chelsea will be desperate to return to winning ways on Monday evening knowing that victory will lift them into the top four of the Premier League.

The Blues' bid for Champions League qualification was dealt a blow last time out as they were beaten by Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, but the reigning champions' humbling defeat to Arsenal and Newcastle United's loss to Fulham over the weekend means Chelsea will rise above both with three points on Monday.

Enzo Maresca's side have been in patchy form over the last month and have won just once in their last seven Premier League games, with their home record actually worse than their away record this campaign. Former Chelsea boss Graham Potter will be aiming to take advantage of their Stamford Bridge blues on Monday.

Here is how Chelsea could line up for an important clash.

GK: Filip Jorgensen - Maresca has remained coy on who will start between the sticks on Monday following another Robert Sanchez horror show against Man City. Surely it's time for Jorgensen, who has impressed in the cup competitions, to get a run in the Premier League.

RB: Reece James - Having only recently returned from injury, James currently faces a battle with Malo Gusto for a starting berth. The Englishman is likely to retain his place despite a tricky afternoon against Omar Marmoush last time out.

CB: Trevoh Chalobah - Having been recalled from his Crystal Palace loan, Chalobah followed a mammoth performance against Wolverhampton Wanderers with a sub-par display against Erling Haaland and Co. most recently.

CB: Levi Colwill - Colwill was offered a challenging return from injury at the Etihad but should find life easier against the injury-stricken Hammers. They are still without preferred strikers Michail Antonio and Niclas Fullkrug.

LB: Marc Cucurella - The Euro 2024 winner scored on his last outing at Stamford Bridge and will have similar attacking motivations against West Ham. He will need to get past the determined Aaron Wan-Bissaka, however.

DM: Moises Caicedo - Caicedo has been excellent this season but he's likely to be tested by Mohammed Kudus and Lucas Paqueta on Monday, although the latter is doubtful to feature with a groin problem.

DM: Enzo Fernandez - Fernandez's purple patch of attacking returns has come to an end during Chelsea's difficult run but the South American still has the capacity to be their deep-lying playmaker against the Irons.

RW: Noni Madueke - Madueke has scored in his last two matches for the Blues, taking his season tally to eight goals and four assists in all competitions. There's still a sense that the tricky winger can offer more, though.

AM: Cole Palmer - Chelsea's difference-maker has been relatively muted by his admittedly lofty standards during recent weeks, failing to inspire on his return to former employers Man City. However, his home record is hugely impressive and he could clinch the points for the Blues on Monday.

LW: Jadon Sancho - Sancho will be up against former Manchester United teammate Wan-Bissaka at Stamford Bridge, a duel that could prove decisive. The West Ham full-back is an excellent one-v-one defender but will be worked hard by the fleet-footed Chelsea loanee.

ST: Nicolas Jackson - The Senegalese was the star of the show in the reverse fixture back in September, scoring twice and assisting in a 3-0 triumph. He has six goal contributions in three meetings with the Irons.
