Chelsea have completed the signing of Jadon Sancho from Manchester United.

The winger joins the Blues on loan with an obligation to buy, with reports claiming the Red Devils will receive a fee of up to £25m.

Confirmation of the deal came at 19:30 on Saturday, nearly 24 hours after the window officially shut.

Sancho leaves United despite having worked his way back into Erik ten Hag's plans during pre-season. After being frozen out of the Dutchman's first-team setup last year and performing well back on loan at Borussia Dortmund, he was reintegrated into the fold this summer.

However, Sancho was left out of United's matchday squad for their first two Premier League games of the season and subsequently allowed to pursue an exit.

Juventus were heavily linked with a move for Sancho but ultimately could not agree terms, and he has completed a switch to Chelsea instead. He leaves United having scored 12 goals in 83 appearances.

Sancho was born in London but this will be the first time he has been on the books of a club in the English capital. He was on schoolboy terms at Watford, who are based just outside of London, before moving to Manchester City, Dortmund and then United.

While Sancho has come in through the Stamford Bridge doors, Chelsea have agreed to let Raheem Sterling join London rivals Arsenal on loan for the 2024/25 season.
