Chelsea and Arsenal continue their preparations ahead of the 2024/25 Women's Super League campaign on Sunday when they lock horns in a pre-season friendly in the United States.

With Sonia Bompastor having taken over from Emma Hayes in the Chelsea dugout, pre-season promises to be vital as the former Lyon coach gets her ideas across on the training field. The Blues got off to an encouraging start during the first clash of their US tour, beating Gotham FC 3-1 thanks to goals from Johanna Ryting Kaneryd and Aggie Beever-Jones.

Arsenal continue life under Jonas Eidevall for 2024/25 and they actually start their campaign before Chelsea when they face Rangers in Champions League qualification on September 4. They also won their opening match of their US adventure, coming out as 2-1 winners against Washington Spirit.

Exciting summer signing Mariona Caldentey has travelled to the US with Arsenal for their two pre-season clashes but didn't feature against Washington Spirit. There was a debut for Rosa Kafaji though after her move from BC Hacken.

Arsenal's cohort of Lionesses impressed in their first friendly, with Alessia Russo bagging a brace at Audi Field. The likes of Beth Mead, Leah Williamson and Lotte Wubben-Moy all turned out across the pond.

Chelsea vs Arsenal score prediction

It's never easy to predict the outcome of a pre-season friendly given the significant rotation but both sides will be aiming to land a first psychological blow of the 2024/25 season. For Chelsea manager Bompastor, it's a chance to see how her side react to one of the WSL's best teams.

There should be goals in Washington and very little to separate two impressive attacking sides, so we're backing an entertaining draw.

Prediction: Chelsea 2-2 Arsenal
