Arsenal and Liverpool have been told how much they may have to pay to land Galatasaray forward Baris Alper Yilmaz this summer.

Yilmaz, 24, played every minute for an impressive Turkey side at this summer's Euro 2024 and has made his way on to the radars of a number of English sides, with Aston Villa also touted as potential suitors.

Should Yilmaz make a move this summer, his former club Ankara Keciorengucu will be entitled to a share of the fee and club president Sedat Tahiroglu believes he knows how much it would take to get a deal done.

"We have 20% of Baris Alper Yilmaz's fee but Galatasaray has not requested a meeting with us on this issue," Tahiroglu told Aksam. "I hear Liverpool and Arsenal want him but I know Nuri Sahin definitely wants him [at Borussia Dortmund].

"I don't think the price will be €50m. He can be sold for around €30m (£25m).

"The path needs to be paved for young people for Turkish football. Hopefully, he will make the decision that is good for him.

"The money is not important. The important thing is for Baris Alper to go to a team where he will be successful because he will be the face of Turkey."

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta recently admitted concerns over new Profit & Sustainability Rules had forced the Gunners to move slowly in the summer transfer window. Goalkeeper David Raya is the only permanent signing made so far, having seen his loan from Brentford turned permanent.

As for Liverpool, the Reds are also looking for their first addition of the summer as they seek to hand new manager Arne Slot the tools needed to continue Jurgen Klopp's legacy at Anfield.
