Liverpool star Cody Gakpo says he's "way more chill" than his teammates when it comes to arriving at the training ground in style - but admits he does have a strong interest in the fashion industry.
Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Konstantinos Tsimikas are just three of a number of Liverpool stars who never fail to impress when a new batch of training ground outfit photos are released.
The Anfield club have proven that they are some of the best dressed in the game, projecting their personal styles and embracing their unique designs.
Netherlands forward Gakpo is another Reds star who is unafraid to express himself with his fashion. After just one full season in the north of England, Gakpo has found his feet at Liverpool, slotting into the team dynamic and picking up their fashion habits.
"Yeah, we know when [the photographer] is coming," he revealed in an interview with GQ. "When she's there, most of us dress up a little bit. For me, it depends on the day, and how much time I have got. Some [of the players] are doing their best, but not me. I'm way more chill.
"I'm most comfortable in just a tracksuit like this one. A good trackie is always the best."
Gakpo also revealed an appreciation for luxury watches, admitting that his interest stems from childhood.
"I like to know a lot about watches but that doesn't mean I want to buy them all," he continued. "I just find it interesting. When I was younger, there was a Rolex dealer in Eindhoven where I'm from, and I saw this two-tone rose-gold steel Datejust with a chocolate dial and diamonds in the dial. That's the first watch where I thought, 'Oof, I really like that one.'
"Most watches I have bought due to special occasions. I have a rose-gold Daytona bought after scoring my first goal for the national team [in 2021] and a platinum Daytona that was a treat for moving from PSV to Anfield.
"When it's for something really special, I engrave it with the date or the occasion. I also have a Vacheron Constantin Overseas and got an orange strap for it especially for the Euros. That's the only watch I've worn for four months."
