Chelsea have one foot in the Conference League quarter-finals after a 2-1 win over Copenhagen at Parken Stadium on Thursday night.

The Blues opened up a 2-0 lead in the Danish capital, which makes the fact that Copenhagen pulled one back towards the end of the game to keep a foot in the door a disappointment.

After a goal-less first half, Reece James powered Chelsea ahead with a low strike from outside the box that nestled in the bottom corner of the goal almost straight from the restart.

Midway through the second half, Enzo Fernandez doubled that lead when he converted a cross from Tyrique George in the middle of the box.

But Gabriel Pereira’s late header ensures Copenhagen aren’t dead in the tie, even if the advantage lies with Chelsea ahead of next week’s second leg at Stamford Bridge.
