Crystal Palace and Wolverhampton Wanderers continue their preparations for the 2024/25 Premier League campaign when they meet in the early hours of Thursday morning for a pre-season friendly.

The clash takes place in the United States with Wolves having already tasted victory in their first match in North America. The Old Gold beat fellow Premier League outfit West Ham United 3-1, with new summer signing Rodrigo Gomes catching the eye with a quick-fire brace. Gary O'Neil's side have now won all three of their friendlies and will be aiming to continue their perfect record against Palace.

That won't be straightforward considering how impressive the Eagles have been under Oliver Glasner since his appointment in February. They have played just two pre-season matches to date, both of which took place in the United Kingdom. A 1-1 draw with Charlton Athletic was followed up by a 6-3 win over Crawley Town that saw new recruit Daichi Kamada score his first goal for the club.

Crystal Palace are still without a number of first-teamers due to this summer's international tournaments. Jean-Philippe Mateta is away with France at the Summer Olympics, while the likes of Eberechi Eze, Adam Wharton, Marc Guehi and Dean Henderson are all recovering from Euro 2024.

Jesurun Rak-Sakyi has been linked with a summer exit but has impressed with three goals in pre-season. He may start against Wolves, as could new signings Kamada and Chadi Riad. Cheick Doucoure is also back after his long injury lay-off, featuring against Crawley last time out.

Wolves have breezed through their pre-season matches so far, including an impressive 3-1 win over former Old Gold boss Julen Lopetegui and his West Ham side last time out.

Having just signed from Braga, Rodrigo Gomes made a great impression against the Irons, scoring twice within 15 minutes of his introduction. Matheus Cunha also found the back of the net but had to be replaced by Hwang Hee-chan after just 30 minutes due to injury.

Summer recruit Jorgen Strand Larsen featured for over an hour against the Hammers, while a number of young players were also handed minutes by O'Neil.

Crystal Palace vs Wolves score prediction

Friendlies often throw up weird and wonderful results, as demonstrated by Palace's recent 6-3 win over Crawley. Maryland could witness another high-scoring, end-to-end affair this Thursday, with both sides boasting plenty of attacking talent.

Wolves and Palace have been in good goalscoring form throughout pre-season but the former have boasted a sturdier defence, conceding just once in three outings. That may just give them the edge as the Old Gold's new forward signings look to impress at the other end.

Prediction: Crystal Palace 2-3 Wolves
