Dani Olmo has said he is staying open-minded about his future amid transfer interest from Barcelona, insisting that his intentions have been made clear to those in power.

Olmo hails from Catalonia and spent seven years in La Masia as a junior player before taking the slightly circuitous route into senior football by moving to Croatia at the age of 16.

The gamble paid off because he quickly made his Dinamo Zagreb debut before his next birthday, eventually sealing a relatively high profile switch to RB Leipzig in January 2020. After four and a half years in Germany, and now aged 26, Olmo could be on the move again.

90min reported Barcelona making a verbal offer for Olmo earlier this month, with sporting director Deco holding advanced conversations with both Leipzig and the player.

"We'll see," Olmo has now told Marca when asked about his future while attending a charity event.

"[Tuesday], we celebrated all day and now I'm at the Campus [in Terrassa]. The people who deal with [transfers] already know what I want to do."

"I don't know if I'll stay in Germany, we'll see. I want to be somewhere where I'm valued and loved and what I want to do is win. There are several options, we'll see what happens.

"What I want is an ambitious project and I want to win titles."

Olmo has a €60m (£51m) release clause in his Leipzig contract, but only until 20 July when it expires.

Barcelona do not have the financial power to trigger the clause and have been alternatively looking to arrange a deal worth a similar amount but with favourably staggered payments. Leipzig's preference has been to receive the whole sum up front but haven't ruled out accepting a payment plan.

Olmo is fresh off the back of starring for Spain at Euro 2024. He wasn't initially a starter in Luis de la Fuente's team but was the chosen replacement for Pedri, whose tournament was cruelly ended by injury a few minutes in the quarter-final win over Germany.
