David Beckham has praised England internationals Bukayo Saka and Trent Alexander-Arnold, revealing that he sees similarities in his game to Alexander-Arnold's.

Former England captain Beckham is widely regarded as one of the greatest right-sided players in Premier League history. The former Manchester United star won it on six occasions, made the PFA Team of the Year four times and won the PFA Young Player of the Year award in 1997.

Speaking to Rio Ferdinand on the retired defender's YouTube channel, Beckham was asked about the current generation of right-sided players in the Premier League, singling out Alexander-Arnold.

"If there was one player I look at, and I think he's very similar in the way he delivers the ball, he's very similar in the way he crosses the ball or passes, it has to be Trent," said Beckham.

"His vision, he's unbelievable. And he's an exceptional player, but when I look at a player and I think I see myself in the way he puts the ball in, what he sees, in the long balls that he plays.

"He plays balls that some players don't even think about and that's what I love about him as a player."

Alexander-Arnold is currently starring for Liverpool but is yet to agree a new contract with the club and is attracting interest from Real Madrid, which is a move Beckham himself once made.

Ferdinand also asked his former colleague to provide thoughts on Arsenal star Saka.

"I love him as a person, firstly, but I love him as a player, and everything that he represents as a footballer, not just on the field but off the field as well," the ex-England skipper replied.

"He's trying to make a difference in many different areas. I think he's a great number seven."
