Ederson has committed to his future at Manchester City, silencing rumours linking the goalkeeper with a move away this summer.
The Brazilian had been the subject of a number of transfer rumours this summer, with a move to the Saudi Pro League seeming increasingly likely. However, the shot stopper has chosen to continue his career with the Premier League champions as they look to make it five titles in a row.
Ederson addressed his future after City's Community Shield victory over Manchester United, revealing conversations he had with manager Pep Guardiola.
"It's over. I spoke with some players, the coach, director, everyone," he told ESPN Brasil. "I talked to my family and it was a joint decision. We'll stay more years at City.
"I've already decided my future, especially after the conversation I had with Guardiola. This season, I'm totally focused at City with my team-mates in search of more titles."
Ederson featured in Saturday's Manchester derby at Wembley, during which he even stepped up to score in the penalty shootout. Both sides were level as the full time whistle blew, before City triumphed 7-6 on penalties.
Guardiola also took the time to speak on Ederson's future at City, confirming that he was happy to see the goalkeeper remain between the sticks.
The Catalan boss boasts options in the goalkeeper position - with Stefan Ortega a reliable option in Ederson's absence. The German made 20 appearances during the 2023/24 season, covering the FA Cup final clash with the Red Devils while Ederson nursed an injury.
The reigning champions will launch their 2024/25 campaign with a trip to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea on Saturday - just weeks after defeating the Blues in pre-season.
