Endrick spoke at his Real Madrid unveiling about how it was a dream come true because of his longstanding love for the club that he has now joined.
The Brazilian teenager, whose move to the Bernabeu has been almost two years in the making, was emotional whilst wearing the famous all-white kit for the first time and revealed exactly why it is this was something he wished for since being a young boy.
"I hadn't planned to cry, but I've loved Real Madrid since I was little because there was someone who came into my life: Cristiano Ronaldo," Endrick revealed
"It was because of him that I became interested in Real Madrid. I looked up all the idols a long time ago, including [Emilio] Butragueno. I've always been in love with Real Madrid. Playing for Real Madrid is amazing and crying has come from my soul. I hope we can make history together."
Ronaldo scored 450 goals for Madrid in just 438 appearances between 2009 and 2018, defining an era in modern football and redefining the standards by which 'world class' status is judged.
Endrick hadn't even turned three-years-old when Ronaldo first joined Madrid in a world record transfer from Manchester United. But, as he grew at home in Taguatinga, a Ronaldo at his peak was perfectly placed to be the first superstar footballer the youngster was aware of.
There will be competition for places from Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo this coming season, but Endrick, who has been handed Madrid's No.16 shirt last worn by Alvaro Odriozola, has no intention for immediately leaving on loan to command better game time.
"As I said, I have been in love with Real Madrid since I was little and I want to be here. It was my dream and I didn’t care about anything else," he said.
"I asked my father if Real Madrid were in negotiations and I told him that I didn't care about any other team. I hope to spend my entire career at Real Madrid."
