Erik ten Hag blocked a deadline day loan exit from Manchester United for winger Antony, a report has revealed.
After two tough seasons at Old Trafford, Antony has lost his place in United's starting lineup and has seen just one minute of action across the three games so far this year.
As Friday's transfer deadline inched closer, the Daily Mail state United were offered the chance to temporarily part ways with Antony by Real Betis, who made an audacious double loan offer which also included midfielder Christian Eriksen.
Ten Hag, however, was not prepared to sanction any unplanned exits late on deadline day and quickly blocked the move.
United sold midfielder Scott McTominay to Napoli earlier in the day and also struck a deal to send winger Jadon Sancho on loan to Chelsea, which was announced on Saturday.
Having already weakened in both positions, Ten Hag decided he could not lose either Antony or Eriksen and knocked back Betis' ambitious proposal.
Sancho had been left out of the United squad this season anyway, but Antony's case for minutes has not been helped by the resurgence of young Amad Diallo, who has started every game this year in Antony's favoured position on the right wing.
Marcus Rashford has been the starter on the left wing but competition is slowly increasing as Alejandro Garnacho eases his way back to full fitness after a busy summer.
