Erik ten Hag has hit out at the speculation surrounding his Manchester United future, insisting everyone at the club remains on the same page.

Ten Hag entered the international break with his job at risk after leading United to their worst start in Premier League history but, after a lengthy meeting between those in charge, the Dutchman held on to his position.

Back in front of the media ahead of United's visit from Brentford on Saturday, Ten Hag voiced his frustrations at what he claimed were attempts to divide the club.

Asked if he had received assurances from United officials, Ten Hag simply responded: "No.

"The noise is only coming from the media, from you guys. From some of you, not all of you, but some of you. Bringing up stories, creating stories, creating fairytales, making noise, bringing lies. Because I know we are all on one page in this club. I told this before the break, I told several journalists, they didn't believe me. I see the reports, but internal in the club it's quiet.

"Of course, we are discussing the position where we are, that we are unhappy in the position where we are and we have to turn the corner, what has to happen with a strategy to turn this corner.

"But ultimately we are quiet, we are composed, we stay where we are, we stick to the plan and we are very convinced we will make it a success."

United were known to hold an interest in Thomas Tuchel, who signed on as the new England manager earlier this month. The likes of Edin Terzic, Gareth Southgate and Thomas Frank have all been named as possible replacements if officials choose to cut ties with Ten Hag in the future.
