Erling Haaland has refused to discuss whether contract talks are in motion at Manchester City, after enjoying another season at the top of the Premier League table.

Since making the move to English football in the summer of 2022, Haaland has become the most proficient goalscorer around, helping City win extend their dominance to four successive titles.

He's also enjoyed fruitful campaigns in the Champions League, and was a standout player during City's treble season of 2022/23. The Norwegian is currently under contracted until 2027 but has refused to speak about the possibility of further extending his stay.

Speaking to tv2, Haaland was quick to quash the subject, saying: "I've had two fantastic years, and have three years left. That's really all I can say. That's all I can say, what I just said."

Haaland's agent Rafaela Pimenta, who took over the stable following Mino Raiola's passing in 2022, has kept the exact details of the player's contract a closely guarded secret. However, the lawyer has publicly stated that all her clients possess a release clause to keep them in control of their destiny.

Haaland also commented on Pep Guardiola, who the Norwegian has worked under since arriving.

"Of course, I hope he stays for a long time. But in any case, City is a club that will have one of the best coaches regardless, both before and after Pep's era, so the day he quits, I'm sure that a solid coach will come in," Haaland said.

With the football season now finished, most players have joined up with their respective national teams ahead of Euro 2024 and the Copa America. Haaland, however, will be forced to watch his City teammates from afar, after Norway failed to qualify for the Euros.

But his efforts at club level cannot be faulted, with the striker picking up another Premier League Golden Boot trophy at the end of the 2023/24 season. Fans were quick to comment on his drop in form during the latest campaign, but still Haaland walked the race for the top scorer trophy, netting 27 goals in 31 Premier League appearances. He got a record-breaking 36 the previous campaign.
