Everton are aiming to lift themselves from the foot of the Premier League table this weekend when they host Bournemouth at Goodison Park.

Sean Dyche's men have suffered significant defeats to Brighton & Hove Albion and Tottenham Hotspur at the start of the 2024/25 campaign but did manage their first win of the term in the Carabao Cup second round midweek. A 3-0 win over Doncaster Rovers saw summer signing Iliman Ndiaye open his Everton account.

Despite two encouraging displays, Bournemouth have only managed successive 1-1 draws at the start of the new Premier League season. They could have secured victory against Newcastle United last time out had Dango Ouattara's stoppage-time effort not been controversially disallowed for handball.

Everton's defensive injury woes have certainly contributed to their poor early season form, with the influentinal Jarrad Branthwaite absent with a groin injury for Bournemouth's visit. Nathan Patterson and Youssef Chermiti are in the treatment room, too.

New centre-back Jake O'Brien kept a clean sheet on his debut in the Carabao Cup and could come into the starting XI this weekend. Seamus Coleman and James Garner returned from injury against Doncaster and Ashley Young is back after his one-game suspension.

Armando Broja joined on loan from Chelsea but missed the deadline to be registered for this game.

Andoni Iraola is missing three first-teamers for the journey north on Saturday, with Tyler Adams, David Brooks and Enes Unal all unavailable.

However, exciting summer signings Julian Araujo and Evanilson made their debuts against Newcastle and both should start again at Everton. Antoine Semenyo will be aiming to continue his fine form in front of goal at Goodison.

Loan arrival Kepa Arrizabalaga should start on Saturday after Neto joined Arsenal on loan on deadline day.

Everton vs Bournemouth score prediction

Everton have made a disastrous start to the new season but Dyche should whip them into shape sooner or later. Their home form was crucial in the closing stages of last season and they must turn Goodison into a fortress for one final campaign.

Bournemouth have offered glimpses of the impressive levels they showed during Iraola's debut season and are only likely to improve as their summer signings settle into English football. They are unlikely to blow Everton away this weekend and could be on course for a third straight 1-1 draw in the league.

Prediction: Everton 1-1 Bournemouth
