Arsenal winger Fabio Vieira has rejoined Porto on loan for the 2024/25 season.

Vieira first joined the Gunners from Porto in the summer of 2022, but has failed to make an impact during two seasons in Mikel Arteta's setup.

The 24-year-old will now spend the campaign back on loan at the Estadio do Dragao.

Vieira was born just outside Porto in Santa Maria da Feira and came through the club's academy system before breaking into the first team in 2019. He went on to score 10 goals in 76 games for Porto and was snapped up by Arsenal for an initial £30m.

However, Vieira has featured 49 times across two seasons at Arsenal, with many of his appearances coming from the bench.

Porto moved to re-sign him this summer and have brought Vieira back on a loan deal which does not include an option to buy.

Vieira's return to Porto comes shortly after they loaned Portugal international winger Francisco Conceicao to Juventus.

Arsenal have sought to streamline their squad for the new season, with Vieira and fellow attacking midfielder Emile Smith Rowe both departing this transfer window. Academy graduate Smith Rowe has left the club on a permanent basis however, joining Fulham on a £34m deal.

Meanwhile, Eddie Nketiah could also seal an exit from the Emirates Stadium in the coming days, with a move to Crystal Palace almost agreed. Defenders Jakub Kiwior and Kieran Tierney have too been tipped as potential outgoings before Friday's transfer deadline.
