23 players who've joined the WSL so far this summer transfer window

The Barclays Women's Super League is deemed as one of the most competitive in the world, so it's no surprise that a raft of players have already penned deals with clubs to guarantee their spot to play in the 2024/25 season.

Mariona Caldentey (Arsenal)

Mariona Caldentey is currently Arsenal's only signing this transfer window.

The Spain international has finally hung up her boots at Barcelona, after ten years. Whilst there, she secured six Liga F titles, three UEFA Women's Champions Leagues titles, six Spanish Cups, four Spanish Super Cups and six Catalan Cups.

She's donned the red and blue striped shirt over 302 times, scoring 114 goals in the process, seeing her become the fifth all-time top scorer in the club's history.

Jill Baijings (Aston Villa)

Midfielder Jill Baijings penned a loan deal with Aston Villa from Bayern Munich.

The 23-year-old became the club's first signing of the summer, after previous stints with Heerenveen, SGS Essen and Bayer Leverkusen, before making her Bayern bow in 2023.

She's also been capped eight times by the Dutch national team.

Paula Tomas (Aston Villa)

Left-back Paula Tomas has committed to a two-year deal at Aston Villa, with the option of a further year.

She makes the move to Villa after exiting Levante for an undisclosed fee. The 22-year-old turned professional with Granotes in 2020, and has also progressed through the ranks at international level, earning two caps for Spain.

Marisa Olislagers (Brighton)

Brighton & Hove Albion named left-back Marisa Olislagers as their first summer signing.

The 23-year-old is set to move to the south coast after leaving FC Twente, where she joined in 2020. During her tenure, she won nine domestic trophies, including three Eredivisie titles.

The Netherlands international made 75 appearances for her country's development team, before going on to secure a dozen senior caps.

Kiko Seike (Brighton)

Japan striker Kiko Seike will be representing the Seagulls for the 2024/25 season.

The 27-year-old scored 20 goals for her previous club Uwara Reds, who won the Japanese top-flight last season, after scoring seven in 21 games.

Brighton haven't revealed the terms or length of the deal, but Seike has now joined the club after competing for Japan at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Marit Auee (Brighton)

Dutch defender Marit Auee has sealed a deal with Brighton after moving from FC Twente.

The 22-year-old has won the Eredivisie title, the Dutch FA Cup, two Super Cups and two League Cups during her spell with the Spanish club.

Rachel McLauchlan (Brighton)

Scotland international defender Rachel McLauchlan is to spend the next period of her career at Brighton.

The 23-year-old arrives having spent three seasons with Rangers, winning a cup double with them last season and the league title in 2023.

McLauchlan has also made 23 appearances for her country.

Aisha Masaka (Brighton)

Striker Aisha Masaka has secured her spot at Brighton, after leaving Swedish club BK Hacken.

The 20-year-old spent two seasons at Hacken, where they finished second in the league and reached the Champions League quarter-finals.

Masaka has also represented Tanzania on an international level, securing nine goals from just 15 appearances, helping them to qualify for the Women's African Cup of Nations.

Julia Bartel (Chelsea)

Julia Bartel has committed to spending the next three years at Chelsea, after saying goodbye to Barcelona.

The 20-year-old central midfielder first joined the Catalan side in 2019, after being a successful product of their academy.

On the international stage, Bartel was instrumental in Spain winning the under-20 World Cup in 2022 where she was named in the team of the tournament.

She also won the under-19 European Championship last summer and played every game in both competitions.

Sandy Baltimore (Chelsea)

Forward Sandy Baltimore has put pen to paper on a four-year contract with Chelsea.

The 24-year-old spent the last nine years at Paris Saint-Germain, making over 200 appearances. On the pitch, Baltimore can take up a variety of roles in attacking midfield and is comfortable playing on either wing.

At international level, she contributed to France winning the 2019 edition of the under-19 European Championship in Scotland. As a result, Baltimore has accumulated 28 caps for the French national team and has been named in the squad for their next set of international fixtures.

Oriane Jean-Francois (Chelsea)

Midfielder Oriane Jean-Francois has committed to spending the next three years at Chelsea.

The 22-year-old spent the last two seasons at PSG, after signing her first professional contract with Paris FC.

Jean-Francois can play at the base of central midfield, or box-to-box and has racked up 93 senior matches in her career to date.

Lucy Bronze (Chelsea)

England defender Lucy Bronze has penned a two-year deal with Chelsea, after two seasons at Barcelona.

The 32-year-old has three WSL titles, and five UEFA Women's Champions League wins under her belt, after making over 400 senior appearances in her career.

This isn't her first time playing in the WSL, after previous spells at Sunderland, Everton, Liverpool and Manchester City.

Bronze became Chelsea's fourth signing of the summer.

Inma Gabarro (Everton)

Spain international Inma Gabarro has confirmed her move to Everton from Sevilla.

The 21-year-old is capable of playing across the forward line as well as in midfield. She's had an impressive start to her international career too, helping Spain win the under-20 Women's World Cup in Costa Rica in 2022, finishing the competition as the Golden Boot winner.

Toni Payne (Everton)

Nigeria international Toni Payne has also followed in her teammates footsteps and joined Everton, after six years with Sevilla.

The 29-year-old can play as both a midfielder and a forward and during her time in Spain she clocked up 169 appearances.

Payne also helped play a part in helping her country to the last 16 of the 2023 World Cup, having represented the USA up to under-23 level.

Sari Kees (Leicester)

Defender Sari Kees has penned a three-year deal with the Foxes, after departing Belgian club OH Leuven.

During her time in Belgium, the 23-year-old helped her side to three successive second place finishes, prior to ending last season in third.

She has also represented Belgium on 30 occasions on the international stage.

Chantelle Swaby (Leicester)

Defender Chantelle Swaby has committed to Everton for the next two years, after bidding farewell to FC Fleury 91.

The 25-year-old saw success playing in France's Premiere Ligue, helping the club to a fourth placed finish.

Swaby also arrives with a wealth of international experience, having earned 38 caps for her nation and competing in both the World Cup and CONCACAF championships, since her debut in 2018.

Olivia Smith (Liverpool)

Liverpool broke their own transfer record with the onboarding of Canadian teenager Olivia Smith.

She joins the Merseyside club after leaving Sporting CP, where she produced 13 goals and nine assists from her 18 league appearances. She also helped her side secure Women's Champions League qualification by finishing runners-up to Benfica.

For Canada, Smith became her country's youngest-ever player when she debuted age 15 back in November 2019, and has since earned ten caps.

Aoba Fujino (Man City)

Japan's most promising rising star Aoba Fujino has penned a three-year deal with Manchester City.

She joins from WE League club Tokyo Verdt Beleza, where she's spent the entirety of her senior career so far.

The 20-year-old was also a breakout start at the 2023 Women's World Cup and became Japan's youngest ever goalscorer in the tournament with a goal against Costa Rica in the group stage.

Dominique Janssen (Man Utd)

Defender Dominque Janssen has committed to Manchester United until the end of the 2026/27 season, with an option for a further year.

Her most recent spell with German side VfL Wolfsburg saw her win the Frauen Bundesliga twice and the DFB-Pokal three times.

The move sees Janssen make a return to the WSL, after a previous spell with Arsenal, where she won the league title, League Cup and FA Cup.

On the international stage, Janssen and her Dutch side were crowned European champions in 2017, following a 4-2 victory over Denmark in the final.

Melvine Malard (Man Utd)

United confirmed the the permanent signing of France international Melvine Malard this summer.

The 24-year-old spent last season on loan from Division 1 Feminine side Lyon, making 20 appearances and scoring seven goals. She was contracted to stay at the French club until 2026, but the Red Devils exercised an option-to-buy clause.

The deal will see Malard remain in Manchester until the end of the 2026/27 season.

Anna Sandberg (Man Utd)

Sweden international Anna Sandberg has penned a deal with United, after a successful stint at BK Hacken.

The defender is set to stay until 2026/27, with an option to extend. She first joined Hacken in July 2022, and secured Champions League experience with the Damallsvenskan side.

On the international stage, Sandberg was part of the Sweden squad that finished third at the 2023 Women's World Cup.

Camilla Saez (West Ham)

Chile international Camila Seaz has chosen to spend the next two years at West Ham.

The 29-year-old joined on a free transfer from Madrid CFF, for whom she featured 29 times in the Spainish Liga F during the 2023/24 campaign.

Capped 71 times by Chile, Saez started every game as La Roja finished fifth at the 2022 Copa America Femenina in Colombia.

Kinga Szemik (West Ham)

West Ham have unveiled the signing of Poland international goalkeeper Kinga Szemik, on a three-year contract.

The 27-year-old joins after spending the previous two seasons with French Division 1 club Stade de Reims and became the women's team's first signing of the summer.

She topped the charts for clean sheets in France, keeping nine from her 22 matches played. Szemik is also a regular for her country, having featured 17 times for Poland, and was part of the squad that won the 2013 Women's Under-17 European Championships.
