4 players who could play huge roles for Real Madrid during 2024/25
- Real Madrid are aiming to retain their UEFA Champions League and La Liga crowns
- Mbappe has joined the club on a free
- The players who'll play big roles for the club next season
Real Madrid are heading into the 2024/25 season as European and Spanish champions, and have just signed the best footballer in the world.
Who'd be a Real Madrid fan, eh?
Los Blancos have plenty of players who are capable of helping them win yet another La Liga and Champions League double during the upcoming campaign, and here's our pick of four who could help do exactly that.
1. Kylian Mbappe
Let's get the most obvious pick out of the way first.
If Kylian Mbappe, the best footballer in the world, plays to anywhere near his best levels in his debut season, then Real Madrid will probably win another La Liga title and a 16th Champions League.
That's how good he is.
He can win any game at the drop of a hat.
2. Rodrygo
Despite 24 goal contributions across all competitions during Madrid's double-winning season, heading into the 2024/25 campaign Rodrygo seems like he's been somewhat forgotten.
And while Mbappe will continue to hog the headlines moving forward, that doesn't mean that Rodrygo won't be contributing an immense amount.
The reversion to a 4-3-3 to accommodate the signing of Mbappe will likely actually help the Brazilian's game quite a bit, with Rodrygo being much more effective playing as a right winger as opposed to a centre forward (the role he played for much of last season).
3. Arda Guler
It's rather amazing that a player like Arda Guler, one of the best young talents in the world, isn't guaranteed gametime at club level.
But that's just how incredibly stacked this current Real Madrid attack is.
And while Guler won't be the first, second or even third name on the teamsheet, he can certainly still make a big contribution for Madrid throughout the 2024/25 campaign.
When Ancelotti needs to rotate when Madrid are inevitably in the latter stages of the Copa del Rey and Champions League, Guler will be a player he regularly turns to.
4. Ferland Mendy
With rumours circulating that Alphonso Davies could be set to join Real Madrid as a free agent next summer, it feels like it's now or never for Ferland Mendy at the Santiago Bernabeu.
He'll be hoping he can stay fit and prove to the club's hierarchy that he's the man for the left-back role for the foreseeable future.
