Real Madrid will head into the 2024/25 season as European and Spanish champions for what feels like the trillionth time.

Despite the successes of last campaign however, Madrid haven't rested on their laurels this summer, signing the world's best footballer Kylian Mbappe to improve their squad even further.

As well as major incomings, Los Blancos fans are expecting a few more players to depart in search for more game-time elsewhere this summer too.

Here are a few that may just leave...

Andriy Lunin

Andriy Lunin is a key reason why Madrid won their La Liga and UEFA Champions League double last season.

So why does he have to leave the club?

Well, because Thibaut Courtois is now back from injury.

As we saw in the Champions League final, when Courtois was drafted straight back into the starting XI despite Lunin's impressive performances, the Ukrainian is destined to be a second-choice goalkeeper at Madrid forever.

The 25-year-old is more than good enough to be the first choice shot-stopper at another top European club though, and should probably make a move this summer in order to get the game-time he deserves.

Arda Guler

Ok, ok, ok, this is a bit of controversial shout, but here us out.

As evidenced at Euro 2024, Arda Guler is more than good enough to play for Madrid. In fact, he has the capacity to be one of the very best footballers in the world.

That being said, Madrid's forward line is so ridiculously crowded with world class - some even generational - talent, that there's no direct route to a starring role at the Santiago Bernabeu for Guler.

Considering the fact that Madrid are probably the only club that can't offer Guler that sort of role, it may be time to up sticks and go be the main man at another one of Europe's heavyweights instead.

Rodrygo Goes

Yep, another controversial shout.

And another with the exact same reasoning. Thanks to the signing of Kylian Mbappe in particular, Rodrygo Goes' spot in the Madrid starting XI is seemingly very much up in the air heading into the 2024/25 season.

The pre-season games in August will give us a clear indication on how Carlo Ancelotti is hoping to fit all of his star forwards into a lineup, and if it can actually work.

It it doesn't, Rodrygo may be the player who'd be better off moving elsewhere.

Reinier Jesus

Amazingly, Reinier Jesus is still a Madrid player.

And even more amazingly, he's also still only 22 years old.

After failed loan spells across the length and breadth of Europe, Reinier is currently training with the Castilla squad instead of the Madrid first-team.

If they can find a way to permanently cut ties with the failed wonderkid this summer, they most definitely will.
