Manchester United have been one of the busiest Premier League teams during the 2024 summer transfer window, signing Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro thus far.

Having finished a disappointing eighth place in the Premier League last season however, it's clear that there's still plenty more work to be done in the market before the window shuts at the end of August.

Here are four players Man Utd need to sign before the deadline.

Although Man Utd have already dipped into the defender market this summer to sign the prodigal Yoro, if you were one of the people unfortunate enough to watch Casemiro fill in as a centre-back last season, you'll know that they need more than one central defensive signing.

That's where Matthijs de Ligt enters the fray.

The defender is available this summer for a reported £42m and, when one considers how high his ceiling is, that's a bit of a bargain.

Under Erik ten Hag at Ajax, De Ligt was widely considered to be the most exciting defensive prospect of his generation. Working under Ten Hag once again may help him finally achieve his potential.

Manuel Ugarte

A warning for Casemiro here: sorry mate, we're going to slag you off again here.

With Casemiro's legs completely going last season, Man Utd were left with a massive hole at the heart of their midfield for most of the 2023/24 season. And while Kobbie Mainoo's emergence did alleviate the concerns somewhat in the second half of the campaign, it's clear that he needs some industrious support in the middle of the park.

The man for that job is Manuel Ugarte.

Averaging 4.11 tackles per 90 at PSG last season, as well as completing 91% of his passes, make him the perfect addition for the Red Devils.

Having reportedly agreed personal terms with Ugarte already, this looks like a deal that could very well go through pretty damn soon.

Man Utd have quite a few right-back options to choose from in order to replace Aaron Wan-Bissaka, but the one they look set to go with is Noussair Mazraoui.

Considering his price tag (£12.7m), his previous successes under Ten Hag at Ajax and his offensive acumen, it's a deal that makes a lot of sense.

Ferdi Kadioglu

Yep, another defender.

It's a justifiable choice though.

Man Utd's left-back issues were well documented last season, brought on by Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia's injuries, and it's clear that they can't really afford similar issues in 2024/25.

With it being clear that Ten Hag can't rely on Shaw to be able to stay fit for a full season, another left-back option capable of starting Premier League games is required. Ferdi Kadioglu's impressive, all-action, performances for Turkey at Euro 2024 were proof that he's ready to take the next step in his career.

He'd be a shrewd addition this summer.
