It may seem like the 2024/25 season has just begun, but already we must abandon our clubs and turn towards the international break as our favourite stars fly out to link up with their nations.
But do not fret, the break gives us ample opportunity to assess the start of the season and catch the world's biggest talent in action.

5. Netherlands vs Germany - 10 September
Euro 2024 semi-finalists Netherlands are set to take on nearby rivals Germany in the Nations League in September - a game that is bound to bring excitement.
For Premier League fans, this fixture brings an extra bit of added weight too, with so many stars having been chosen to represent both squads.
Manchester United supporters can tune in to see new signings Matthijs de Ligt and Joshua Zirkzee in action - after catching just glimpses of them so far in the Premier League.
If you're looking for a Tuesday night fix, this may just be the answer.
4. France vs Italy - 6 September
Neither France nor Italy had particularly inspiring Euro 2024 campaigns, so the Nations League offers a chance for both sides to right some recent wrongs.
Their fixture, at Parc des Princes, takes place on Friday, so if you're really missing club action this weekend then this slots in place perfectly.
Italy haven't beaten France since 2008, but with talent such as Aurelien Tchouameni already ruled out, the Euro 2020 champions probably fancy their chances of sneaking a win.
3. Colombia vs Argentina - 10 September
If you enjoyed the Copa America final, you've now got the chance to watch it all over again as Argentina face Colombia in the World Cup qualifiers.
It'll be a tense clash between the two, after Argentina scraped a win in the 112th minute thanks to a Lautaro Martinez goal that saw them lift the Copa America trophy.
Colombia will arrive with a point to prove. They're the only unbeaten side currently in the qualifiers and will hope to continue that streak when they face Argentina.
2. Belgium vs France - 9 September
Belgium endured a miserable 1-0 defeat to France at Euro 2024 to send them out of the tournament in the round of 16. They'll be seeking revenge when they travel to the Groupama Stadium.
Romelu Lukaku and Thibaut Courtois have missed out on places in the upcoming fixtures, sparking discussions over the future of the Belgium squad.
If nothing else, this fixture promises entertainment and is absolutely worth a watch.
1. England vs Ireland - 7 September
England will face the Republic of Ireland on 7 September - a fixture that brings excitement for a few reasons.
This will be our first chance to witness Lee Carsley in action, after the England Under-21s manager was named interim boss following Gareth Southgate's departure.
Phil Foden, Cole Palmer and Ollie Watkins have all withdrawn from the squad - while Carsley has given maiden call-ups to Noni Madueke, Tino Livramento, Angel Gomes and Morgan Gibbs-White.
This fixture will give us an initial taste of what England could look like if Carsley is to be named as Southgate's permanent replacement - and therefore what the 2026 World Cup could look like.
