Man City's best and worst players in FA Cup final defeat to Man Utd
- City unable to collect another piece of silverware this season
- United deserved winners with youngsters on the scoresheet
- The best and worst performers from Pep Guardiola's side
Manchester City saw rivals Manchester United get the better of them in this year's FA Cup final as the Red Devils mirrored the Cityzens victory in 2023.
Strikes from Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo had United 2-0 up at half-time, before Jeremy Doku halved the deficit late on to provide a slight chance for Pep Guardiola's side.
Here are City's best and worst players from the showdown according to 90min's player ratings.
Man City's best player vs Man Utd
Jeremy Doku - 8/10
Questions may arise regarding why the Belgian didn't start the clash at Wembley. Known for his speed and skill, Doku has frequently entangled his opponents, and Saturday proved no exception.
Entering the game at the break in place of Mateo Kovacic, Doku posed a formidable challenge to Aaron Wan-Bissaka, swiftly manoeuvring the ball and occupying threatening positions.
While United's full-back garnered praise from many, he couldn't thwart Doku from finding the net in this encounter.
Honourable mention
Phil Foden - 6/10
The Premier League Player of the Season was City's brightest spark until Doku came on.
Foden had ample possession on the hallowed turf but struggled to overcome the sublime defence of Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez.
Erling Haaland often cut a frustrated figure too as the 23-year-old delayed passing the ball at crucial moments to offer threat in front of goal.
Man City's worst player vs Man Utd
Stefan Ortega - 3/10
Ortega's hasty advance to deal with Alejandro Garnacho was an imprudent move and one that would prove costly in the end.
City fans would have been disappointed by the goalkeeper's performance, especially given his impressive stint filling in for Ederson during an earlier injury spell in the season.
With memories of his solid performances fresh in their minds, fans would have expected him to excel once again in such a crucial match.
