Real Madrid closed their remarkable campaign with a Champions League victory after beating Borussia Dortmund to claim a record 15th European title.

Earlier in the season, they grasped the La Liga title, flying to the top of the table to finish 10 points ahead of rivals Barcelona. If that wasn't enough, they also clinched the Spanish Super Cup after defeating Xavi's side 4-1 in the final.

It's safe to say their campaign was incredibly memorable - and for all the right reasons.

Here's a look back at Madrid's enviable 2023/24 title-winning season.

Real Madrid 2023/24 player of the season

Vinicius Junior

It's no surprise that Vinicius is regarded as one of the best players in the world. The forward is at the heart of everything that is great about Madrid and truly stands out among an incredible squad.

The 23-year-old was named the Champions League Player of the Season after scoring six goals in the competition - including the winner in the all-important final against Dortmund.

Many believe he should win the Ballon d'Or for his efforts, highlighting just how talented he is. If he is to be crowned the winner, he will become the first Brazilian to win since Kaka did in 2007.

Honourable mentions: Jude Bellingham, Toni Kroos, Antonio Rudiger

Federico Valverde vs Man City

Federico Valverde's volley against Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-final was nothing short of spectacular. The midfielder proved to be reliable in defence and a serious threat in attack, encompassing everything that Madrid strive to be.

Valverde's shot, accompanied by a cross from Vinicius, set up an exciting final 10 minutes against City as suddenly both sides were level. The ball flew into the bottom corner of the net and ultimately helped Madrid to advance in the tournament as they headed into the second leg with the spoils shared.

A perfect goal and an immensely powerful shot, Valverde deserves all the flowers for this technical strike.

Madrid's clash with Bayern Munich carried all the excitement of that famous semi-final face-off between the pair in 2012, but had the added bonus of ending with a win for the Spanish stars.

Two late goals from Joselu carried Madrid to the Champions League final, knocking the dominant German side out of the competition. Carlo Ancelotti's side were trailing, yet in true Madrid style they dug deep to secure a victory and capitalise on gaps in Thomas Tuchel's team.

It was a truly stunning display from the La Liga side, who put on an entertaining show while also ruling out the possibility of an all-German final at Wembley.

Honourable mentions: Real Madrid 5-0 Alaves, Real Madrid 3-2 Barcelona, Real Madrid 4-1 Villarreal

Jude Bellingham

It was always going to be Jude Bellingham.

In his debut season at Madrid, Bellingham registered 23 goals in 42 games - an incredible achievement for any player, let alone a midfielder.

The 20-year-old enables Madrid to play with style, boasting the ability to set the pace on the pitch and pass with fluidity and precision. His maturity and discipline is second to none, and although Bellingham's first season has been a sight to behold, the real impact of his move to Madrid will only become measurable in future seasons.

Bellingham embodies a future legend, and is already regarded as one of the best players in the world. With Kylian Mbappe's move to Madrid confirmed for next season, it's frightening to imagine what they may achieve together.

Honourable mention: Joselu, Arda Guler

Real Madrid 2023/24 most improved player

Antonio Rudiger

Antonio Rudiger wasn't expected to play much during the 2023/24 season, but after an injury struck Eder Militao, the defender suddenly became one of the most important players on the pitch.

Rudiger handled the expectations perfectly and soon reminded any doubters why he is one of the most feared defenders around.

The spotlight was truly thrust upon him during Madrid's penalty shout-out against Manchester City, when the German stepped up to take the decisive spot kick. His efforts secured Madrid a place in the semi-finals, and Rudiger a influential space in the team.

Honourable mention: Federico Valverde

Real Madrid 2023/24 disappointment of the season

Dani Ceballos

Dani Ceballos has become quite a forgettable player in Madrid's packed squad and certainly struggled to make an impact in their most recent campaign.

In previous seasons he had been a decent back-up midfield option, but now Ceballos isn't hugely useful and only made 27 appearances across all competitions. He has signed a new contract, which sees him stay at the club until 2027, but it remains unknown whether Madrid will still try to part ways with the 27-year-old this summer.

When he does get time on the pitch, Ceballos often looks lacklustre and unable to keep up with those around him.

Dishonourable mention: Nacho
